During each harvest week at Picadilly Farm, we produce a wide variety of seasonal crops. The crops will change as the season progresses, from tender spring greens and crisp carrots, to mouthwatering summer melons and tomatoes, to crisp autumn broccoli and potatoes, to robust winter parsnips and beets.
Here's a list of what you can expect to find in your share:
Spring (June)
Spinach, lettuces, radishes, scallions, salad turnips, arugula and other salad greens, bok choy and other cooking greens, and the first beets, summer squash and broccoli.
Summer (July, August, September)
Carrots, beets, cucumbers, zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, sweet peppers, cantaloupe, watermelon, new red potatoes, scallions, onions, greens, broccoli, celery, lettuces, cabbage, fennel. Pick-your-own crops include flowers, beans, peas, cherry and paste tomatoes, edamame, herbs and strawberries (in 2008).
Fall (October, November)
Winter squash, cabbage, potatoes, onions, carrots, beets, sweet potatoes, turnips, celeriac, celery, spinach, lettuce, greens, Brussels' sprouts, parsnips, broccoli, cauliflower, leeks.
Winter (December and beyond)
Carrots, beets, parsnips, potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, celeriac, winter squash, turnips, cabbage.
